Armoured Robotic Combatants
Armoured Robotic Combatants (ARC) is a local multiplayer Mecha Areana game.
I was the lead Tech and Design for the development of the project; I also created the UI/UX used in the game.
ARC is a 1 v 1 Third Person Arena Shooter in which the players take control of ARC suits and battle it out
for victory.
My biggest focus on this project was designing and developing the mechanics, using the Virtual-On series for
insparation, making sure that the players had no advantage over eachother; however, having the ARC suits have
individuality, allowing different play styles.
My main challenge for creating this game was having to become a Technical Artist for the team; because of the use of
post-processing materials used on all the models I had to find a way to have both characters and all the environment pieces
to not take up so much resources on screen. To combat this I looked deeply into instancing meshes within UE4, and by the
end of the project I had everything running smoothly, and was able to help my Jr Level Designer place objects in the
scene with ease and efficiency.
I was really proud of my team during development of this project, we all had fun, worked hard, and eventually came
